Cornwall is famous for cafes that offer cream teas and pasties and Looe is no different. It has a large number of of cafes that serve a wide variety of food from cream teas, sandwiches, hearty hot meals to all day breakfasts and everything in between. As well as food they will all serve coffees, teas, hot chocolates and soft drinks to cater for all ages and tastes.
The good news for dog owners is that all cafes in Looe are dog friendly so whether you are just popping out for a morning coffee or coming back from a long day at the beach with your family and your dog. You can visit any of the cafes in Looe to get refreshed and re-energised.
Here are a list of dog friendly cafes in Looe based on distance from Banjo Cottage.

Loowena cafe is only 220 feet from Banjo Cottage. Straight down Tower Hill and turn left, Loowena cafe is the last building on the left.
This cafe is a double fronted cafe which gives it more space inside as well as some seating outside. It is very close to the beach so is an ideal cafe to pop to if you have spent some time on the beach and want some refreshment.
Loowena prides itself on it's freshly made food which is of excellent quality.
Though it doesn't do larger meals, it does lovely sandwiches and cream teas as well as a good selection of teas and coffees.

Paws for Coffee cafe is just 410 feet from Banjo Cottage, down Castle Street, turn left and it is on your right.
You cannot get more dog friendly a cafe than this one. Paws for Coffee is new to Looe and is part of The Looe Pet Emporium and so you can buy a coffee as well as some food, leads, treats or even a new bed for your dog.
Paws for Coffee have a few tables inside and serve cakes and drinks only.
Stop here, your dog will thank you, even if your waistline doesn't.

The Lookout is only 0.1 mile away from Banjo Cottage and is on the Quay near the Lifeboat station.
Being on the Quay, The Lookout has several outside tables that overlook the river and West Looe and is perhaps one of the best cafe views in Looe.
The Lookout is one of the only cafes that is open all year round and offers breakfasts, lunches and dinners as well as cake (baked fresh by the owner daily), coffee and teas and offer a good selection of vegetarian and gluten free food too.

Pier One is only 0.1 mile away from Banjo Cottage, located on Fore Street near the Guildhall Market.
The great thing about Pier One is that it has a lot of outside space - the most of any cafe in Looe - and being on Fore Street (which is the main route from the car park to the beach) it is ideally suited for passing foot traffic.
Pier One is fully licensed, so you can buy alcoholic drinks from here as well as a wide selection of food and drink.
In Summer it can get very busy here due to it's location and though it has a lot of outside space the views are of the street rather than the river or sea.

Lammana is one of the newer cafes in Looe, opening in Summer 2025.
It is a bit tucked away, down the alley to the left of Kelly's Fish and Chips.
Lammana is tiny inside with only room to seat about 8 people and it serves specialty coffee, loose leaf tea, soft drinks and a small selection of baked goods. It is tastefully decorated and has a beautiful cups, tea pots and trays that really make the presentation special.
To top this off, in my opinon, it serves perhaps the best coffee in Looe, so it is well worth searching out this hidden gem in Looe.

The Pier Cafe has only recently reopened after a large refurbishment. It is found on the promenade between the current lifeboar station and the Old Lifeboat house.
It's enviable position on the prom with ample outside seating means you can enjoy your food and coffee whilst looking over the beach and the sea.
They serve a wide selection of hot and cold food perfect for your stay by the beach.
A note of caution - watch out for seagulls if you are eating outside.

The Old Boathouse is only 0.1 mile away from Banjo Cottage, located on the Quayside.
Being on the Quay, The Old Boathouse offers lovely views of the River Looe and the passing boat traffic. It has a good amount of outside seating on both sides of the road and if you can get a seat on the river side on a warm day it is an excellent spot to watch the world go by (just be careful of the seagulls).
The Old Boathouse provides a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and drinks (hot and cold) and well worth a visit.

Dotty’s is only 0.2 miles away from Banjo Cottage, located on Fore Street opposite the East Looe public car park. It is the new name for Cafe Fleur and has had a full makeover but with the same owners.
One of the bigger cafes in Looe, Dotty’s cafe is in prime location for foot traffic being so close to the East Looe car park and the main route to Millpool carpark.
Serving the cooked breakfasts, sandwiches and homemade specials. As well as some of the nicest cream tea scones in Looe all freshly made on the premises - very much recommend the fruit scones! It offers a range of Vegan and Gluten free food too.
Being on Fore Street and having large windows, Dotty’s is ideal for people watching whilst enjoying some excellent food.

Martin's Dairy is only 0.2 miles away from Banjo Cottage, located on Fore Street near Looe Bridge and the entrance to East Looe carpark.
Though Martin's Dairy may be more famous for it's amazing selction of cakes, breads, pasties and pastries in the window, as it is a bakery after all. It also has a few tables inside where you can sit and enjoy one (or more) of the cakes on offer and a tea or coffee.
Martin's Dairy is one of the most enticing shop windows in Looe and is perfectly positioned to lure customers in as they come over Looe Bridge on their way to the beach or on their way back to the car after a hard day relaxing in on the sands of East Looe beach.
